The Strawberry Farm: Design of 5 unique contemporary homes
Another residential project instructed by the Fuller Group was for a contemporary development on the site of the former Strawberry Farm in St. Saviours.
The planning process was complex, requiring phased applications to demonstrate redundancy of the existing and subsequent suitability 5 new-build, unique contemporary homes.
Careful attention to spatial layout creating airy living spaces.
Due to site constraints, the new houses occupy the same footprint as the demolished structure, featuring modern designs that reference traditional agricultural buildings to harmonise with the surrounding rural context. Each home boasts superior insulation, airtightness, and soundproofing, constructed with timber cladding, zinc roofs, and large west-facing windows to maximise natural light.
The spacious designs include large gardens and ample parking, with careful attention to spatial layout creating airy living spaces.
Alex Fuller, Managing Director of Fuller Group, said: “The houses appear larger than they are due to optimal space planning. They have a modern appearance but plenty of wood providing warmth, with neutral colours and a high level of detail compared to typical commercial developments.”
